Sheer Fabrics

Sheer fabrics are lightweight, semi-transparent textiles that soften natural light and create privacy while maintaining a sense of openness. de Le Cuona sheers are crafted from natural fibres such as linen, silk or wool blends, giving them a refined texture and an elegant, fluid drape.

Sheer fabric is most often used for curtains, where it gently diffuses light and frames views. It can also be layered with heavier fabrics to add depth, softness and movement, making it well suited to both contemporary and classic interior schemes.

Sheer fabric is designed primarily for curtaining, where its lightness and transparency can be fully appreciated. Due to its delicate construction, it is not suitable for upholstery, but it can be beautifully paired with heavier fabrics to create layered window treatments.

Sheer fabrics are semi-transparent, allowing natural light to filter through while providing a degree of privacy. For enhanced privacy, they are often layered with curtains, blinds or shutters, offering greater flexibility in light control and coverage.

The amount of fabric required depends on whether the fabric is plain or patterned, as well as the window dimensions and the fullness desired. Sheer curtains typically require 2 to 3 times the width of the window to create a soft, flowing effect and an elegant drape.
