Reversible Fabrics

Reversible fabric is a textile designed with two finished sides, each offering a different colour, texture or pattern. It is created using specialised weaving techniques that interlace yarns to produce two distinct yet complementary faces, allowing for subtle variation in tone, texture and character within a single fabric.

Reversible fabrics offer exceptional versatility for both upholstery and curtaining. Their dual-sided construction allows designers and homeowners to introduce subtle contrasts in colour or texture while maintaining a cohesive aesthetic. This flexibility makes them particularly well suited to layered and considered interior schemes.

Yes. Reversible fabrics are well suited to both curtaining and upholstery. Their carefully engineered construction provides durability and stability, while the ability to showcase either side adds versatility and refined character to a wide range of interior applications.

In many cases, both sides of a reversible fabric are woven to the same high standard and can be considered for upholstery use. However, performance characteristics may vary between the face and reverse of certain fabrics. The Martindale rub count displayed on our product pages relates to the face of the fabric. If you are considering using the reverse side for upholstery, we recommend contacting our team for guidance. For curtaining applications, either side of a reversible fabric can typically be used according to your preferred aesthetic.

Reversible fabrics can be used to create subtle variation and visual interest through contrasting colours, textures or tones. They are particularly effective in layered interiors, where cushions, upholstery or curtains can showcase different faces of the same fabric while maintaining a balanced and harmonious scheme.

Our reversible fabrics are available by the metre, providing flexibility for a wide range of interior projects. Samples can also be ordered to allow you to experience both sides of the fabric and assess the colour, texture and character before making a selection.
